Horizon Forbidden: The action role-playing game Horizon Forbidden West was created by Guerrilla Games and released by Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2022. The game, which is a follow-up to the 2017 film Horizon Zero Dawn, takes place in a post-apocalyptic Western United States that is still recuperating from the effects of an extinction event brought on by a rogue robot swarm. Assuming control of Aloy, the player must travel through the Forbidden West in order to locate the cause of a deadly sickness that kills everyone it infects. The player can use melee and ranged weaponry to defeat hostile rebels and mechanical creatures while exploring the open area and completing tasks.
